Location
Mossy Oaks Camp is snuggled into the oak brush on the "back 40" of our property at the base of Grand Mesa. The canvas outfitter’s tent features two wood-burning stoves and three air mattress/ cot beds (queen, full, and single). Nothing about Mossy Oaks is fancy; the silverware is mismatched, the tables are plastic or plywood, the beds are a bit dusty, and the floor is dirt. And there’s no internet, electricity, or running water. But, as Mastercard claims, the experience is “priceless.”
You’ll drive to our house (four-wheel drive is required from late fall to spring), park your vehicle at the end of the field, and load your belongings into the wagon provided. It's a short walk up a wide dirt trail to Mossy Oaks Camp. There, we provide all the “camp” essentials – fresh water, a cook stove, firewood, kitchen supplies, a cooler, sheets and blankets, lanterns, etc. Ice is available upon request.
The outdoor restroom facility includes a waterless toilet, an outdoor solar-powered shower system, towels, and soap and shampoo.
Mossy Oaks can accommodate 5 people. We have 5g cell service with T-Mobile at Mossy Oaks (not sure about other carriers).
We don’t have many rules. Sorry, but no pets are allowed. Please be extra careful to control and extinguish fires and use only the provided propane fire ring and stoves. In addition, please do not burn paper or trash; we hope to prevent burning debris from flying into the forest. Most importantly, please do not trespass onto our neighbor’s property, and no hunting is allowed at Mossy Oaks or the surrounding areas.
Rates
Rates start at $90 per night. The basic cleaning fee is included in your rate. If excessive cleaning time is needed for a dirty kitchen, excessive laundry, trash thrown outside, etc., $50 per hour will be charged.

Our property is about 7 miles south of Collbran, Colorado up a steep gravel road at the foot of Grand Mesa. Camp is located about a 1/4 mile from the parking area.
We live on the property, but we work full time. If you need help, we can come over, but we won't disturb you during your stay. You can reach us by phone, text, or email at any time.
Most Collbran businesses close by 8 pm, so if you arrive late, please bring necessary food and supplies with you.
During the summer, you can access the Mossy Oaks parking area in a 2-wheel drive car, but the dirt road can be bumpy or muddy. We recommend driving a vehicle with 4-wheel drive in late fall to early spring as the weather can be unpredictable. If you aren't sure, please ask us about the current conditions of the road.
